Message Review
Main points and scriptures from this week's message.
- We need to look at life through the eyes of a lion, or through the telescope of faith.
We need to be able to look through the Telescope of Faith in order to make sense of what is going on in a tough world.
We also need to be able to look through the Telescope of Faith in order to look at ourselves.
In order to look through the Telescope of faith it must have a good LENS.
- Look Beyond
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (NLT)
That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day.
For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!
So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.
- Earnest Expectation
Romans 8:19 (PHILLIPS)
The whole creation is on tiptoe to see the wonderful sight of the sons of God coming into their own.
- New Normal
Your mission is the next person you meet. Do not miss the ministry that is right under your nose.
It takes faith to stay put, not just to step out.
- Sunday is coming
Jesus died on Friday and rose again on Sunday, but in between those days was Saturday, a day when the disciples were losing heart. We have to always remember that Sunday is coming.
The right perspective will change everything.
Message Discussion Questions
Read the following guidelines before starting your group discussion.
- Answer the question specifically. Avoid tangents and try to stay on target.
- Limit your responses to 1-2 minutes per question.
- Use I, me, or we statements. This is a time for personal reflection, not a time to fix others.
- Each person is free to share without interruptions when sharing within the suggested guidelines.
The following questions will help guide your discussions and give your group some opportunities to open up and share.
- Share about your experiences with loss? How did you react and respond?
- Where are your eyes currently fixed? What holds your attention more than anything else?
- What does living a life of "earnest expectation" look like to you?
- What area of your life are you struggling to get off your heels and onto your tiptoes?
- What is your mission field? Who is in your world that God has designated for you to reach?
- How are you preparing now for seasons that will come later?
