TALK-IT-OUT
Open YouVersion and take turns reading: Philippians 1:6, 3:13, Isaiah 43:18, Luke 9:62, Genesis 12:1-5, Ecclesiastes 7:10, and Acts 2:46
Main points from this week's message:
The Habit of Facing Forward
Main Point: Family that looks forward, moves forward. Let’s not stop in places we were meant to go through.
Talk-it-Out: Pastor talked about Abraham’s father, Terah, who along the way to the promised land, stopped in Harran and stayed, most likely because of a past hurt. What might be holding you back from moving forward in your life?
Main Point: We miss the future if we hang on to the past.
Talk-it-Out: God gave Abraham a big vision for his family’s future. With expectation and focus, he moved his family toward the promises of God. What can you do to fix your focus on the future God has for your family and leave the past behind? What do you need to leave behind?
Main Point: Facing forward is to continue to do what God has called us to do.
Talk-it-Out: Maybe you’ve felt like giving up, quitting or you’ve lost passion for what you’ve been doing, but you know God has called you to do it. How can you get up, push through and keep moving toward your future? Has there been a time you’ve pushed through to find yourself in a much better place on the other side?
Main Point: Do what you’ve been doing with more confidence and faith. Letting God continue His work in you is moving forward.
Talk-it-Out: “...being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” - Philippians 1:6. What does this verse say to you? Does it give you confidence that God is always working in you as you continue to move forward?
WRITE-IT-OUT
