HOSTS
Make sure to start off with prayer. Open up group with this icebreaker:
Do you think everyone should wait until after Thanksgiving to put up Christmas decorations? When do you put yours up?
TALK-IT-OUT
Open YouVersion and take turns reading:
2 Kings 3:15–18, 2 Kings 3:20, Genesis 12:2, Dueteronomy 28:2, and Ecclesiastes 5:19
Main points from this week's message: Making room for a Miracle: Grab a shovel!
Main Point: YOU DON’T DIG DITCHES IN A DESERT UNLESS YOU’VE MADE ROOM IN YOUR MIND FOR RAIN
Talk-it-Out: In our story, the military leaders made room in their minds for a miracle. Despite the opposition and thirsty soldiers, they did what Elisha told them - dig some ditches. What ditch you need to dig? What step can you take to partner with God to prepare for your miracle?
Main Point: DITCH DIGGING STARTS WHEN YOU MAKE ROOM IN YOUR MIND FOR BLESSINGS TO COME INTO YOUR LIFE
Talk-it-Out: Have you’ve settled for living from paycheck to paycheck or not being able to buy or give what you want? What do you need to do to make room in your mind for God to bless you financially?
Main Point: DITCH DIGGING MEANS BEING WILLING TO CONFRONT WHAT ISN’T WORKING. WHAT YOU DON’T CONFRONT WILL CONTINUE.
Talk-it-Out: What do you feel isn’t working in your current financial situation? What would you do if you were debt free?
Main Point: DITCH DIGGING IS HAVING GRATITUDE AND DOING YOUR BEST WITH EVERY OPPORTUNITY YOU HAVE
Talk-it-Out: Discuss how you can steward what you’ve been given better with your group.
Main Point: DITCH DIGGING IS PROGRESS OVER TIME
Talk-it-Out: Our job is ditch digging. God’s job is rain. What can you do right now to step out in faith? Do you believe God wants to bless you?
