Have you ever felt disconnected, alone, or like you don't matter? Find out why God thinks about you and how you matter to His big picture.

Better Together We Greater Than Me Elevate Individuality WE > ME alone lonely two are better ME WE community

Let’s talk about me . . . and you—the ME individually if you will. It can be easy to wonder if it’s possible to be fully surrendered to Christ, choosing His way over my own way and still celebrating ME. Here’s what Jesus had to say about this in Luke 10:27, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and love your neighbor as yourself.”

He didn’t say, “Love your neighbor not yourself.” Instead, He gave us the formula for living a healthy, holistic life: love God, love others, and love yourself.

The ME is important to God, and so many Christians have downplayed the ME, but every ME matters to God. In Luke 15, Jesus provides several illustrations about one lost coin, one lost sheep, one lost son, etc. In these parables—these stories of the lost—He goes out of His way to portray that every one matters, and you are that one.

Now that we’ve established each and every ME matters, let’s talk about the WE. WE are a community of ME’s, for it’s “In Christ, WE, who are many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others,” (Romans 12:5).

We are a community that functions like a body. If a hand were cut off from the body, it serves no purpose. However, when attached, it adds incredible value, which leads me to my point: WE is greater than ME.

Scripture teaches us to have an attitude that elevates the WE over the ME. Ecclesiastes 2:9, says, “Two are better than one. . .” The WE can do what the ME can’t. We can do more together than we can on our own, for it’s when we’re connected to the body that we find our highest value.

If you’ve found your ME disconnected from the WE, I want to encourage you to plug into the community of your local church, and if you’re in our area, I want to extend an invite to join us at Champions Centre.
